N Beaver Twp Public Hearing on Permit for NatGas-Fired Electric Plant

There will be a public hearing of The North Beaver Township Supervisors on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 3:45 P.M., at The North Beaver Township Municipal Building, 861 Mt. Jackson Rd., New Castle, PA 16102 to gather testimony on a conditional use application for Natural Gas-Fired Electrical Generation Plant in an I (Industrial) Zoning District located on Edinburg Road.

The company was the only testimony permitted, if we tried to address anything they said in their "presentation" their lawyer objected. The township solicitor wasn't even present in the beginning and that lawyer went so far as to speak for him! Then when we tried to ask questions , the township solicitor said only questions pertaining to the 7 items on the conditional use. I finally asked them to read the 7 items and then asked why they were allowed spew PR and the public wasn't allowed to question that. The solicitor said..."That is just part of their presentation". I was under the impression that these people were supposed to protect the citizens of NBT... guess not!

Thanks for letting us know. Have you also followed-up with the township? It may not seem worth the effort, but it's just that sort of relentless perseverance that has brought whatever progress we can claim.

How about sending a letter to the township solicitor?
