"Bag It" - movie screening

Event-Date:
Wednesday, February 27, 2019 - 7:00pm

Bag It follows the filmmaker as he learns through everyday experience how plastics affect our climate, our oceans, our bodies, our lives. This screening of Bag It is sponsored by the ecumenical group "What's SUP (Single Use Plastics)."

The movie will be followed by remarks and discussion, led by

  • Erika Strassburger (Pittsburgh City Councilwoman). A consistent advocate for important environmental causes and actions, she recently sponsored - and garnered unanimous Council endorsement for - a proclamation urging residents to choose sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics at stores and restaurants.
  • Mark Dixon (filmmaker, activist and entrepreneur). The author of the website NoPetroPA, he has repeatedly tackled issues involving global warming and has been active in addressing plastic, the practice of fracking, and the current petrochemical rush in Western Pennsylvania.

Free and open to the public. Parking is available.
